Signature of the contract for Luxembourg’s participation at Expo 2025 Osaka

On November 30, the Minister of Economy, Franz Fayot, accompanied by Carlo Thelen, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce, and Pierre Ferring, Luxembourg’s Ambassador to Japan and Korea, left South Korea for a three-day working visit to Japan.

Upon his arrival in Osaka, Franz Fayot attended the official signing ceremony of the contract for Luxembourg’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka by the Commissioner general of the Luxembourg Pavilion, André Hansen, and the secretary general of the Expo, Hiroyuki Ishige.

Luxembourg is thus among the first signatories for its 25th participation in a World Expo.

This signature is an important step in the formalization of the Grand Duchy’s participation in the Expo, which will be held from April 13 to October 13, 2025 in Osaka.

Moreover, the meeting allowed the presentation of the project of the Luxembourg pavilion to the Expo organizers.

This was designed by the Luxembourg architectural firm STDM in such a way as to correspond as much as possible to the criteria of circularity and to have the least possible impact on the environment.

This will be an opportunity for Luxembourg to show its commitment and know-how in the field of circularity and sustainability.

This Friday, the Minister of Economy will meet the Japanese Minister in charge of the World Expo 2025 Osaka, Naoki Okada, in Tokyo.

This will be an opportunity to discuss the preparations for the organization of Expo 2025 Osaka.
