Luxembourg National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka: A Celebration of Culture, Connection, and Creativity

On 30 May 2025, Luxembourg will celebrate its National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka. As part of the official calendar of the Expo, each participating country is honored by being given a dedicated National Day to highlight its cultural identity and foster international dialogue. For Luxembourg this occasion is a unique opportunity to present itself as an open, diverse and dynamic country and to honor the longstanding and close friendship with Japan.

This special day will begin at 11 a.m. with an official ceremony at the National Day Hall “Ray Garden” at the Expo site, attended by distinguished guests from Japan and Luxembourg. Among those will be H.R.H The Grand Duke of Luxembourg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Xavier Bettel, and the Minister of Defense, for Mobility and Public Works, Gender Equality and Diversity, Yuriko Backes, accompanied by the Commissioner general of the Luxembourg Pavilion, André Hansen, and a business delegation headed by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.

At 4 p.m., all Luxembourg nationals and residents who are on the Expo site that day are warmly invited to the Luxembourg Pavilion for a get-together.

A highlight of Luxembourg National Day will be the concert performance “Echoes of Tomorrow”, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the National Day Hall “Ray Garden” on the Expo site. It is publicly accessible with free entry. The performance brings together three renowned artists from Luxembourg: Francesco Tristano, Pascal Schumacher, Jill Crovisier, and Japanese dancer Maika Fujii.

Francesco Tristano’s fusion of acoustic piano and electronic synthesizers meets Pascal Schumacher’s contemporary vibraphone explorations, while choreographers and dancers Jill Crovisier and Maika Fujii give visual form to the music through movement. Together, they create a sensory experience that is both universal and intimate.

“Echoes of Tomorrow” envisions a future where the arts are not just a reflection of society, but an active force in shaping it. In an era increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence, the performance is a tribute to the transformative power of human expression. It underscores the role of culture in fostering a more inclusive, connected and harmonious world.
