Successful F&B Mission around GULFOOD 2022
A delegation of 17 companies and their 25 representatives from the sector started the mission by attending the GulFood trade fair, the world’s largest annual food and beverage exhibition, which attracts more than 100,000 visitors from over 200 countries to pursue business connections and explore the latest products and innovations.
Organised by the Ministry of the Economy in close coordination with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Luxembourg had a 120 m2 national pavilion for the third time at the fair to showcase the expertise of four companies that exhibited their products: Luxlait, Moulins de Kleinbettingen, Panelux and The Spice Collection.
On Monday 14th Feb., the delegation began the mission by attending the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s Breakfast Briefing that gave an overview of the prospect & outlook of Dubai’s Economy, the Trade Expansion of potential F&B products in UAE as well as the local industry insight. A guided visit at the Luxembourg stand followed the briefing where the delegates had the opportunities to meet and network with the four exhibitors, before heading to their pre-arranged business-to-business meetings with international participants at the fair.
The following day, the Luxembourg Trade and Invest Office in Abu Dhabi organized a visit of DP World UAE for the delegation, set in the Jebel Ali Free Zone “Jafza” inside the flagship Jebel Ali Port, the premier maritime commercial gateway and hub to a region of more than 3.5 billion people. As the region’s frontline trade enabler, DP World UAE offers integrated solutions to global companies doing business across the region. Jebel Ali Port is the premier gateway for over 80 weekly services connecting more than 150 ports worldwide. It has been voted the “Best Seaport in the Middle East” for 24 consecutive years and is ranked amongst the largest container ports worldwide.
Companies thereafter returned to the GulFood fair to continue networking with international prospects, before attending a networking reception organized by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, on a beautiful terrace under the starry sky of Dubai, to meet and network with fellow delegates and with local business partners.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the delegation visited the Expo 2020 Dubai. A VIP tour guided the business delegation through a selection of food related pavilions including Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, the United Nations’ Opportunity pavilion and many more.
A private show cooking event orchestrated by none other than the Luxembourg pavilion resident Michelin stared Luxembourgish chef Kim Kevin de Dood, using ingredients provided by participating Luxembourgish companies.
This trade mission concluded the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce’s ambitious trade programme at the Expo 2020 Dubai.
