Future-Driven Events Across Space and Circularity

In July 2025, the Luxembourg Pavilion will again host carefully curated events in the spirit of the Expo`s overall vision towards future societies and lives, by catering to the subtheme „Connecting Lives“. The Pavilion will once more enhance its character of being a space dedicated to innovation, circularity, and cross-border collaboration by adding special thematic events to the monthly programme.

As part of an official visit to Japan, HRH the Crown Prince of Luxembourg and Stéphanie Obertin, Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Research and Higher Education, will attend Expo 2025 in Osaka from July 15 to 17. Upon their arrival at the Luxembourg Pavilion, they will be given a guided tour by the Pavilion’s Commissioner General, André Hansen, and Deputy Commissioner General and Director of the Pavilion, Daniel Sahr. Their participation in key events such as the „Space Afternoon“ and a conference dedicated to the topic of circularity at the Luxembourg Pavilion, as well as visits of several thematic and national pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka will mark their following days.

From space to circularity: shaping future visions

As part of the „Space Days“, the Luxembourg Space Agency will host a “Space Afternoon” on July 16 at the Luxembourg Pavilion—bringing together delegates of the official economic missions organised by the Chamber of Commerce, the ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, the Luxembourg embassy and the “Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office” in Tokyo.

The event will spotlight Luxembourg’s strategic focus areas in space, from sustainable innovation to youth engagement.

Already from July 11 to 14, visitors could discover the exhibition “Space for Earth – How space contributes to our planet” at the Luxembourg Pavilion, highlighting the crucial role of space technologies in achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030). Visitors were also able to see models of the ispace rover “TENACIOUS” and the lunar lander, the first of which was designed in Luxembourg.

On July 17, the “Circular Economy Conference” takes place at the Luxembourg Pavilion, exploring, among others, its circular design journey—from concept to construction and future reuse. Built with standard Japanese components, the Luxembourg Pavilion showcases Luxembourg’s commitment to circularity, digital innovation, and international cooperation. Experts from Luxembourg and Japan share insights on advancing circular construction globally.

Economic Missions to Japan and Expo 2025 Osaka

As mentioned, this week the Luxembourg Pavilion will also welcome representatives from more than 60 companies from Luxembourg, active across different industries, visiting Expo 2025 Osaka as part of two trade missions to Japan organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, the Luxembourg embassy and the “Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office” in Tokyo.

The first of these missions focuses on the space sector, providing participants with opportunities to engage with Japanese and international stakeholders from the space industry. The second one, namely the “Tech & Health Mission” is dedicated to ICT, Fintech, Robotics, AI, and Healthcare, enabling participants to explore new innovation partnerships and strategic cooperation.
